Pool Rules
- Lifeguards are "Designees" of the Board for enforcement of
rules and regulations while they are on duty.
- Children under 18 unaccompanied by an adult may be asked to take a
swimming test. The test consists of 1 lap of the pool and treading
water for 30 seconds. The test will be given at the discretion of the
lifeguard.
- Parents assume full responsibility for children using the baby pool.
Children shall not be left unattended.
- No running/horseplay allowed in pools or pool area. Horseplay
includes any rough games/activities that could, in the lifeguard's
opinion, endanger swimmers. A 5-minute "time out" may be
imposed by the lifeguard for repeated misconduct, and expulsion may be
necessary after the second warning.
- A 10-minute break will be taken each hour. Children are to be out of
the pool during this time. Children under 2, when directly supervised
by an adult, and adults may remain in the pool.
- Life jackets and flotation devices are not foolproof and constitute
a danger. Use of such devices shall be confined to the shallow end of
the pool.
- Parents are required to stay in the water close to non-swimmers.
- Use of rafts and floating equipment will be allowed in the pool at
the discretion of the lifeguard.
- No smoking, gum chewing, or drinking is allowed in the pool or near
the edge of the pool.
- If you are planning a party and wish to have more than 15 guests
swimming, please contact the board member in charge of personnel to
ensure an adequate number of lifeguards.
